Their focus is on Operations, Management, Construction, Maintenance, and Expansion of water and power systems. They work to supply industrial, residential and commercial customers in various cities in Saudi Arabia. We are now looking for an experienced professional to join their team in the position of General Manager, based in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia. JOB OVERVIEW: Undertake assigned tasks by the COO in coordinating Technical activities of the company’s Operations & Maintenance in Jubail to ensure the continuous and uninterrupted supply of utilities to all customers while maintaining assets to a high standard and meeting service, quality, environmental and cost targets. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Operational Management - Implement operational policies and procedures to ensure that all activities take place in a controlled and compliant manner. • Maintenance Planning - Direct and implement an approach to plant/equipment maintenance which ensures maximal availability of plant and guarantees supply of utilities to customers. • Continuous Improvement - On an ongoing basis, examine current operational processes to identify and implement potential operational improvements that will positively impact upon service, safety, environmental and cost performance. • Asset Review - Contribute towards the ongoing review of the physical condition of all the company operational assets in Jubail to ensure that those assets are in a suitable condition to allow the organization to fulfil its strategic objectives and they comply with any relevant legislation. • Capital Planning - Contribute towards the development and recommendation of a high-level capital plan which defines the company’s anticipated major capital expenditure in Jubail in order to ensure that the company has the physical capability to meet its strategic objectives and the company is aware of the likely impact of capital expenditure upon cash flows. • Strategic Contribution - As a member of the Executive O&M team, contribute towards the formulation and implementation of overall business strategies and plans which enable the achievement of the company’s mission and objectives. • Leadership/Budgeting & Cost Control, Policies & Procedures and Safety, Quality & Environment – Ensure the effective achievement of Operations & Maintenance functional objectives as per the Company policy and procedures. KEY SKILLS: • Knowledge of financial planning and capital management philosophy and processes. • Knowledge of employee motivation philosophy and theory. • Excellent knowledge of continuous improvement theory and techniques. • Expert knowledge of maintenance philosophy, theory and techniques. • Expert knowledge of all operational processes. • Ability to remain focused on long-term strategic objectives in light of immediate operational requirements. ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: • Fifteen years’ operations, maintenance or engineering experience in the utilities sector or in an industrial environment. • Twelve years’ management experience. • Five years’ experience of managing an operations and/or maintenance function in a large industrial or utilities organization. • Experience of managing relationships with Government or other public representatives at a senior level. • Experience of managing third party sub-contractors in the expediting of operational and/or maintenance activities. • University degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. • MBA or equivalent post-graduate qualification from an internationally recognized business school. • Attendance on post-graduate executive programs in areas to include; financial management, leadership, capital/asset management and strategic planning.
